Glabellar (Frown and Crow's Feet) Lines

Glabellar lines (the vertical frown lines between the eyebrows, which often look like the number "11"), are formed by repeated and involuntary contraction of the muscles between the eyebrows and around the eyes. As the skin becomes less elastic, excessive contraction of these muscles may cause visible, deep wrinkles between the eyebrows to form, even when the face is relaxed.

Static Lines

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin, which normally provides elasticity and resilience. With age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases leading to deeper and more static lines. Static lines are the lines (and sometimes folds) you see when your face is still. Dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid are a popular choice to treat static lines and wrinkles as they plump up the skin, replacing volume that has been lost. Dermal fillers are best used to:

  • Smooth the lines around your mouth and nose
  • Enhance the size and shape of your lips
  • Reduce crow’s feet
  • Reduce laugh lines
  • Fill out your cheeks

Around the Mouth

Over time, volume in the lips can become depleted, leaving a thinner, flatter appearance. Wrinkles and fine lines can compromise the smooth look of lips, and the vermillion borders and Cupid’s bow may become less defined. Around the mouth, the area between the upper lip and nose can become flattened, and the corners of the mouth may turn downward, creating a tired, aged appearance. Dermal fillers can help fight the signs of ageing, by addressing the lip's texture and smoothness and filling the lines and wrinkles caused by smoking and pursing your lips over time.
